Ask what you will make per hour and multiply that by the number of hours you will work in a pay period. A pay period is an amount of time between days when you will get paid, typically 1 or 2 weeks apart. Ask what day payday falls upon and where you go to get your check.
You will be asked to fill out tax forms and taxes will be taken out of your check. If you don't know what to choose, write or select zero for each entry in the forms.
Ask your employer if they have direct deposit or pay card options. With a pay card, no need to cash your check, just use the card! They will add your pay to that card each payday.
You will want to save first and spend later. After you know what you will be making, decide what you are going to save first, and then you know what you can spend. Set goals for saving like for a car or college.
